CLUB CONSTITUTION
Welfare is essential to contribute to good practice within the club, develop performance and to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our runners, run leaders, officials and volunteers.
Welfare covers a range of issues including:
Safeguarding
Protecting
Anti-bullying
Equality
Diversity
Poor practice
Disciplinary matters
Grievances
The Welfare Officer’s role is to advise and support the club officers and committee, to respond to any concerns and to ensure that all leaders, officials and volunteers have completed any relevant checks.
All members are responsible to ensure the welfare of all those who participate and represent the club and our activities. As a member of the club, you have accepted the clubs Code of Conduct and as such, are expected to represent the standards that we uphold.
Under the Code of Conduct, all members should be secure and protected from abuse, maltreatment, discrimination or misconduct and to accept that each member has a right to equality regardless of age, sex, race, religious or social background.
We should all remember that members have varying aspirations and reasons for their membership, so we encourage, but never pressurise them to perform at a level at which they are not comfortable.
All members need to consider their own safeguarding and should conduct themselves accordingly as ambassadors of Pitsea Running Club.
