The Club Grand Prix competition runs every year from 1st April to 31st March.
Races include some of our favourite events from the calendar.
How Does It Work?
Every year Pitsea Running Club selects some of our favourite races for inclusion in our Grand Prix competition.
The races in this competition cover five different distances from 5k to Half Marathon, including South East Essex Cross Country races (Sunday League), with multiple options per distance.
Your best result at these distances will be used when calculating your points. You don’t have to complete races in every distance
Points are awarded depending on:
Where you finish in each of the Grand Prix races that you complete.
Your age adjusted finishing times. (age grading factors are calculated using the WMA 2010 Road Age Standards).
The separate grading factors applied to men and women.
Additionally, five bonus points will be awarded if you complete any marathon during the Grand Prix season, and you will also get 2 bonus points for each Essex League (Saturday League) and Championship cross-country race you complete.
Grand Prix Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places to both male and female runners.
Your Pitsea club colours must be worn at all times, however, if you are fundraising, charity vests are allowed. Runners caught breaking this rule will be docked 3 points.
This competition is open only to First Claim members.
