GRAND
PRIX

The Club Grand Prix competition runs every year from 1st April to 31st March.

Races include some of our favourite events.

How Does It Work?

Every year Pitsea Running Club selects some of our favourite races for inclusion in our Grand Prix competition.

The selected races cover five different distances from 5k to Half Marathon with 3 to 5 races at each distance.

You don’t have to complete races in every distance, but the more races you complete, the more opportunities you have to score Grand Prix points.

Our Crown to Crown race series and Phoenix Striders Summer Series races are also included, your best race result in each series will be used when calculating your Crown to Crown and Summer Series race points.

Points are awarded depending on:

  • Where you finish in each of the Grand Prix races that you complete.

  • Your age adjusted finishing times. (age grading factors are calculated using the WMA 2010 Road Age Standards).

  • The separate grading factors applied to men and women.

Additionally, five points will be awarded if you complete any marathon during the Grand Prix season.

Grand Prix Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places to both male and female runners.

Requirements

Your Pitsea club colours must be worn at all times, however, if you are fundraising, charity vests are allowed.

This competition is open only to First Claim members.
