About the Event

This is a team event with the first six men and four women in scoring for the team, although two of the men and one of the women have to be veterans.  But we still need as many club members to take part as possible as this reduces the points scored by the teams from other clubs.

Races start at 10am. The mens and ladies teams run together and the race distance is usually 4 - 5 miles.

Entry fee is £5 per person - pay on the day

Runners must wear their Pitsea Running Club colours and display the allocated club letter on the front of their vest.

As always, you don’t have to be fast, you don’t have to be experienced, you just need to be able to complete the race distance.

Info from the race hosts:-

Please find below a link to the race prospectus for the inaugural Eastbrookend Country Park SECCL race hosted by Barking Road Runners at 10.00am on Sunday 11 December.

The course is two laps, on a mixture of gravel paths, grass and trail. When we tested it a few weeks’ ago after rain some of the grassy sections were waterlogged but not up to Dean’s soggy standards. Due to the gravel paths, we think trail shoes should be worn rather than spikes. As the route isn’t particularly muddy or hilly, we have added a bit of extra distance – it’s around 7.5k/4.67m.

Free parking is available in the May and Bakers car park (thanks to Dagenham 88 for arranging), which is a short walk to the start line. The park authorities have advised that runners should NOT use the car park nearest to the Discovery Centre.

We will not have facilities to provide hot drinks but will provide water and cakes at the finish line. Hot/cold drinks and food are available from the café in the Discovery Centre, where there are also toilets.
