Bluebell 5 2024 Results

Updated: May 10

After a hugely successful event last year the Bluebell 5 was back once again amongst the beautiful surrounds of Little Havens Nature Reserve.

With a turnout of over 200 runners, it was great to see so many of the Essex running community (and further afield) come together to help support Haven Hospices and Pitsea Running Club.

This year was slightly different as our race HQ had to move to Little Havens Hospice, we thank them for allowing us to use their lovely facilities.

Despite the muddy conditions the course looked amazing and we managed to catch the last of the bluebells that came very early this year. We were even greeted with some sun!

Hope you had a chance to join us back at race HQ for some cake, we had a terrific selection.

Well done to everyone who ran - our congratulations to race winners:

1st Male: Tim Whitcombe, Benfleet RC

2nd Male: Jody Walker, Nuclear Races Striders

3rd Male: Erikas Butkus

1st Female: Jackie Stretton, Springfield Striders RC

2nd Female: Nicola Frith

3rd Female: Christine Sutcliffe, Mid Essex Casuals (trophy collected on her behalf)

1st Vet Male: Colin Waggon, Rayleigh RAT Runners

1st Vet Female: Kelly Fletcher, Benfleet RC

Final Results:

Please join me in thanking our volunteers (both from Pitsea RC and Essex Wildlife Trust) who gave up their time to make this morning another great PRC event.

Also our thanks to St John Ambulance for providing the medical cover.

Our next event will be our Crown to Crown 5k race series, which will be on Wednesday 8th May at 7:30pm, hope to see you there.

Hope to see you back next year.

All the best,

Hiren
