After the huge success of last year’s event, the Bluebell 5 returned once again to the stunning surroundings of Little Havens Nature Reserve - and what a fantastic day it proved to be.
With an incredible turnout of 139 runners, it was wonderful to see so many members of the Essex running community, along with runners from further afield, coming together in support of Haven Hospices and Pitsea Running Club.
Set amongst beautiful woodland trails and spring bluebells, the event once again showcased the unique atmosphere that makes the Bluebell 5 such a special fixture in the local running calendar.
A huge thank you goes to Little Havens Hospice for generously allowing us to use their facilities and grounds again this year, as well as to the Essex Wildlife Trust for access to the nature reserve.
We hope everyone had the chance to join us back at race HQ afterwards and enjoy the fantastic selection of homemade cakes - a well-earned treat after five challenging miles!
Most importantly, well done to every single runner who took part. Your support helps make events like this possible and contributes to the amazing work carried out by Haven Hospices.
Congratulations also go to our race winners, who each received beautifully handcrafted wooden bowls carved from trees sourced locally — a fitting prize for a race so closely connected to nature and the local community.

Provisional Results:
Let's express our gratitude to the volunteers from Pitsea RC (and friends) and Essex Wildlife Trust who dedicated their time to ensure this morning was another successful PRC event. Also, a big thank you to those who baked or provided cakes for everyone to enjoy before and after the race.
Also our thanks to St John Ambulance for providing the medical cover and ensuring we had a safe event.
Hope to see you back next year.
All the best,
Michael
